AstrionTV

An IPTV player for the big screen.
You bring the playlist.

AstrionTV plays the M3U or Xtream Codes playlist you already have, on Android TV, Fire TV and Google TV. Every screen is laid out for a D-pad.

Download APK — 15.3 MB
Version 0.4.2 · Android 5.1+ · sideload only, not on any app store
On a Fire TV Stick, open Downloader and enter
tv.astriondev.com/apk
It serves the same file, and it is far shorter to enter with a remote.
What you are downloading

AstrionTV includes no channels, no streams and no content of any kind. It ships with an empty library and no provider built in. It plays only the playlist you supply yourself, from a source you already have access to. Nothing is bundled, suggested, or hosted here.

There is no account, no sign-up and no tracking. Your playlist URL and credentials are stored on the device and are never sent anywhere but to your own provider.

One exception, stated plainly: the app asks this site once a day whether a newer version exists. That is a plain request for a version number, it carries nothing about you or your playlist, and Settings has a switch that stops it entirely.

Install with Downloader (Fire TV)

The usual route on a Fire TV Stick, and the one that needs no computer.

  1. Install Downloader from the Amazon Appstore if you do not have it.
  2. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options and turn on Install unknown apps for Downloader. (On older Fire OS this is Apps from Unknown Sources.)
  3. Open Downloader and enter tv.astriondev.com/apk in the URL box.
  4. Let it download, then choose Install. When it finishes you can delete the APK file to save space.
  5. Launch AstrionTV from your apps list and add your playlist on the first screen.

Install with ADB

For Google TV, Shield, or any device where you would rather push from a PC.

adb connect <device-ip>:5555
adb install -r astriontv-0.4.2.apk

-r updates in place from any earlier version and keeps your profiles, favorites and watch history.

What it does

Everything below works against your own playlist.

Before you install

Please read

This is an early build. AstrionTV is developed and tested against an automated suite, and has been published here only since 0.4.1. Expect rough edges on hardware and playlists it has not met yet. It is offered as-is, with no warranty.

It is not on Google Play or the Amazon Appstore, so nothing installs updates for you. From 0.4.2 onward Settings will tell you when a newer build is published here.
